Microblading

Microblading provides a natural fluffy look to the eyebrows and fills in and defines the entire brow. It is an excellent procedure for bald, sparse, or over-plucked brows or for any areas that usually require “filling in” with light makeup application. Microblading does a tremendous job of re-establishing lost shape to over-plucked brows, helping maintain symmetry.

The Technique

Microblading is a manual technique that creates very fine lines (aka hairstrokes) within your eyebrows to replicate the look of your natural brow hairs. It can create a light, soft, airy effect to the eyebrows, enhancing your features and framing your face.

Skin Types

Microblading is ideal for normal to dry skin types. Clients with oily skin will healy with slightly more powdery hair strokes whereas clients with dryer skin heal with slightly more crisp lines, resulting in a very natural look. Consequently, oily skin requires more frequent touch ups as the oils in the skin increase fading. For this reason, clients with oily skin are best to explore the option of a combo brow that includes shading or a full soft powder brow.

This technique involves depositing the pigment into the second layer of skin in the direction of the individual’s natural hair growth. Results can last anywhere from 1 to 2.5 years depending on the individual’s skin type.

This technique uses a sterile disposable hand tool made up of extremely fine-tipped needles, fused together in linear grouping of various thicknesses.

The manual technique of depositing pigment with fine, hair-like incisions into the skin dates back thousands of years. The more recent trend of using the technique for eyebrows emerged in Asia approximately 25 years ago, and is also referred to as “eyebrow embroidery”, “3d brows”, “micro stroking” and “eyebrow feathering”.
The method matured in Asia as various artists attempted to perfect different applications, techniques, and the use of tools. The history of microblading is not as well documented in North America, but has gained a lot of popularity in the last several years.

Combination Brow

The Combination Brow AKA Combo Brow has become one of our most popular services, and for good reason! A combo brow offers the best of both worlds–microblading and shading. While microblading produces a three dimensional hair-like pattern, shading or powder effect, gives the appearance of density and fullness where the brow is significantly sparse or has no hair at all.

This service is great for most clients as it is tailored to each individual’s personal aesthetic. If you’re not sure then a consultation is a great place to start.
If you have extremely oily skin, a powder brow may be the best option for you.

Powder Brows

This technique creates a subtle and natural look by simply creating the effect of soft powder filled eyebrows. Ideal for all skin types, especially oily skin and mature skin. The powder brows or “ombre brows” technique uses specific shading techniques and colour to create dimension in the eyebrows. The focus is on softer edges and an overall soft, gradient effect to the eyebrows rather than the older solid, flat colour, heavy tattooed look.
